When choosing a college, things like placements, accreditation of departments, year of inception, fees structure matters. When we browsered online looking for these information, what we found was appalling. Websites were filled with tons of ads with less meaningful information helping students to decide. These sites were interested in showing me more about college's TNEA counselling code than genuinely helping me with the information. Saddest thing is that these are misleading. Websites could be biased because of the revenue from these sponsored ads. Placement claims being made by these colleges about the placement apparently are misleading and incorrect since realty is different. Choosing a college based on sponsored ads might ruin their career.
To genuinely help people from rural background and first graduates(like us), we started collegecouncil in 2013. Gathering most of information about colleges which are found scattered on the public domain and collating them in a single place to help students to make an informed decision. We never sell ads, collegecouncil is a non profit project of us.
